At RiflesStore.com, we make firearm ownership safe, simple, and fully compliant with all applicable laws. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about FFL (Federal Firearms License) transfers and when they apply to your order.
✅ What Is an FFL Transfer?
An FFL transfer is the legal process of transferring a firearm from a licensed seller (like RiflesStore.com) to a licensed dealer near you, who will then complete the background check and hand off the firearm to you in person.
🔫 When Is an FFL Required?
-
Required for:
➤ Handguns and rifles shipped within the United States
➤ Firearms that are federally regulated and cannot be shipped directly to the buyer -
Not Required for:
➤ Certain rifle parts, upper receivers, accessories, or ammunition
➤ Select international shipments, where firearms are legally allowed to ship direct (subject to local laws)
➤ Firearms we legally offer through direct purchase (non-FFL) — clearly marked on the product page
